The 6 Most important Skills to have in todays world
The Most important Skills to have in todays world
1)Public Speaking: Speaking clearly in front of an audience whether it be in front of a group 10-1000 people is one of the most important skills anyone can develop. It isn’t a skill we are born with so we can work on it and with time become very good at it. If we can speak in front of an audience we can comfortably speak in front of anyone.

Personal experience of using the Scriptz helpful links website
So here’s how helpful the Scriptz links website is….honestly….it worked for at 12.55pm on Saturday the 21st of August. It was 5 minutes before we were closing and a Doctor from the hospital walks in wants to know which antibiotic to use for his pregnant wife (third trimester) for the treatment of a urinary tract infection. He think’s amoxicillin will be okay but isn’t sure of the dose or duration.
Indispensible PharmacyI was fortunate enough to go to Queenstown this weekend and amongst all the beautiful scenery and breath taking views was a thriving Pharmacy business setup. What was the best thing about this Pharmacy? It was well located right at the centre of the Queenstown tourist hub, the pharmacy was well stocked with everything you could possibly need from camera’s and snow goggles, it was open 7 days and open until quite late. But what made this pharmacy stand out to me was the fact that it wasn’t dependent on any doctors, in fact there wasn’t any doctor within the block. The Customer is always right
The customer is always right, that’s my Moto in pharmacy. Last month, one of my older customers came in to collect her prescription. As I was putting her medicines in her bag, she tells me to stop and asks why I have given her bendrofluazide.
Scriptz - a Website for Kiwi PharmacistsScriptz is an organization started by pharmacists for pharmacists. Our goal is to provide both students and registered pharmacists with a one-stop shop of all things important to the pharmacy profession. |
IPhone4Iphone 4
This is a huge fault for any phone to have and normally would put off most people from purchasing it; however I still want to spend over a $1000 to own this latest edition to the apple family.
How can pharmacists help pick up adverse effects of drugs?
Adverse effects of drugs are more prevalent than we think…especially in a world of poly-prescribing and lack of monitoring by prescribers. As pharmacists we are in a situation where we are able to pick up medication adverse effects and all it takes is a few minutes to talk to the patient as they collect a new prescription or come in to get their repeat medications.
Unfortunately because the emphasis is placed on getting patients ‘out the door’ and churning through prescriptions quickly pharmacists struggle to find time to talk to patients. This of course, is a real shame because as pharmacists we pledge to promote good prescribing and optimize medicines related outcomes (beneficience) and prevent harm to our patients (non-maleficence).
We encourage all pharmacists to get out there and talk to their patients because really speaking we didn’t do 5 years of training (4 years at uni + intern year) to be glorified pill-counters. Get out there and make your mark on the world.
